Your Right to Delete Your Account
You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. This applies to all versions of the app including the web app, Android app and any future iOS app.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1 – In the App (Recommended, immediate):
- Open the Community Events app
- Go to Profile (bottom navigation)
- Scroll down and tap Delete My Account & All My Events
- Confirm when prompted
Option 2 – By Email (within 30 days):
Email us at communityeventssydney@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered email address. We will process your request within 30 days.
What Gets Deleted Immediately
- Your account profile (name, email, role, preferences)
- All events you created or submitted, including ending any active live stream
- Your login association (Google or email)
- Your push notification token
- Your saved/favourite events
- Your email reminder subscription
What May Be Retained
Some limited records may be retained only where required for legal, security or fraud prevention purposes, in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law. Retained data is not used for any other purpose.
Live Stream Data
Live streams are relayed in real time directly to YouTube and are not stored by us. YouTube broadcasts that were made public remain on YouTube unless separately removed from the Community Events YouTube channel.
Super Admin Note
If you are the only Super Admin on the platform, you must assign another Super Admin before you can delete your account. This ensures the platform remains manageable for the community.
