You can delete your account from the web, PWA, Android, iOS, iPadOS or Windows version of Community Events Australia. You can also request assistance by email.
Delete Your Account in the App
- Open Community Events Australia and sign in.
- Open Profile & Settings.
- Select Delete My Account.
- Choose either Keep Active Until Expiry or Make Inactive Now.
- Review the warning and confirm deletion.
What Happens to Your Events
Events are not deleted when the creator deletes their account. This preserves the historical event record and the host information needed for the archive.
- Keep Active Until Expiry: events remain visible until their normal expiry date, then move to the inactive archive.
- Make Inactive Now: active events move to the inactive archive immediately.
The complete event record is retained, including host details. If an event was submitted on behalf of another person, both the submitter details and the separate host details remain with the archived event. If the account owns a recurring series, its generated occurrences may also be made inactive now or allowed to expire normally, depending on the option chosen during account deletion.
What the Self-Service Process Deletes
- Your Firebase Authentication account and verified phone login.
- Your user profile, including name, email, phone, role, favourites, city and notification preferences.
- Your calendar subscription record.
Information That May Require a Separate Request
Historical archived events are retained as event records, including their host and submission information. Stream-session metadata, stream-listing records, AI reports, moderation/security records, uploaded files and information already sent to third-party providers may also remain. Email us if you want other personal records reviewed for deletion or de-identification.
Limited information may be retained where reasonably required for legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, dispute handling or enforcement of the Terms of Use.
YouTube Videos
Deleting your app account or ending a public or private stream does not automatically delete a video retained by YouTube. Private streams use YouTube unlisted/link-only visibility, but YouTube may still retain the broadcast. To request review or removal of a broadcast from the Community Events Australia YouTube channel, email the event date, title and video link to communityeventssydney@gmail.com.
Request Deletion by Email
Email communityeventssydney@gmail.com with the subject Account Deletion Request. Include the mobile number or email associated with the account and enough information for us to verify ownership. Do not send an OTP or password. We aim to respond and process verified requests within 30 days.
Only Super Admin
If you are the only active Super Admin, you must appoint another Super Admin before deleting your account so the service remains manageable.
