1. Acceptance of Terms
Community Events Australia is operated by Sajjad Zaheer, an individual based in Australia. By registering or using Community Events Australia, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Use of the App
Community Events Australia is provided to help community members discover, share and manage local events. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
3. User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must provide accurate information during registration
- You must not share your account credentials with others
- You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account
4. Event Submissions
- You are responsible for the accuracy of events you submit
- If you submit an event on behalf of another person, you confirm you have their permission
- You must not submit false, misleading or inappropriate event information
- Events may be removed by admins for violations of these terms
- Private events are visible to all logged-in users but full address and host phone are only shareable by the event host and admins
5. Live Streaming
- By clicking "Go Live", you consent to your video and audio being captured by your device and broadcast publicly to YouTube Live
- Live streams are broadcast on the Community Events Australia YouTube channel and are publicly viewable by anyone
- You must have the right to broadcast any content you stream, including any audio playing in the background
- You must not stream inappropriate, offensive or illegal content
- Stream titles will include your event type, host name and subject as entered in the event details
- We reserve the right to terminate any stream that violates these terms
6. User Roles and Permissions
Users are assigned roles (User, Admin, Super Admin) with different permissions. Role assignments are managed by Super Admins in accordance with the app's role management rules. Admins and Super Admins have access to full event details including addresses and phone numbers for all events.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Submit false or misleading event information
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or admin features
- Use the app to harass, abuse or harm others
- Circumvent or attempt to bypass security features or privacy controls
- Stream content that infringes copyright or contains inappropriate material
- Use the app for any commercial purpose without prior written consent
8. Content Removal
Admins and Super Admins may remove any event or user account that violates these terms. Events are automatically removed from the database after a set period following the event date. Hidden events are excluded from all notifications and reminders.
9. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through Profile → Delete My Account. Deleting your account will permanently delete all events you created, including ending any active live stream. See our Account Deletion Policy for full details.
10. Email Reminders and Push Notifications
By enabling email reminders or push notifications, you consent to receiving event notification communications. You may opt out at any time through your profile settings. Hidden events will never appear in reminders.
11. YouTube and Third-Party Services
By using the live stream feature, you also agree to YouTube's Terms of Service (youtube.com/t/terms). Community Events Australia is not responsible for the policies or practices of this third-party service.
12. Disclaimer
Community Events Australia is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranty that the app will be error-free or continuously available. Event information is submitted by users and we cannot guarantee its accuracy. Live stream availability depends on third-party services outside our control.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app, reliance on event information submitted by other users, or any live stream content broadcast through the platform.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
