1. Introduction
Community Events Australia ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Sajjad Zaheer, an individual based in Australia, and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your data when you use our application, including the web app at communityevents.siza.info and any future Android or iOS apps.
2. Information We Collect
- Name and email address
- Login information (Google or email registration)
- User role (User, Admin, Super Admin)
- Event details you create, including host name, date, time, address, event type, audience type, speaker and reciter details where applicable
- Camera and microphone data when you use the Live Stream feature (processed in real time, not stored by us)
- Device, browser and general usage information
- Push notification tokens for event notifications

- Create and manage your account
- Allow you to register, view, edit and manage events
- Display community events to other users
- Send event reminder emails where you have opted in
- Send push notifications for live stream alerts where you have opted in
- Support calendar sync features
- Enable live streaming of events directly to YouTube Live
- Improve security, reliability and app functionality
4. Event Information and Privacy
Events you create are visible based on their type:
- Centre events: Full details visible to all logged-in users. Suburb only shown to guests.
- Private events: Full details visible to all logged-in users on screen. When sharing, full address and host phone are hidden from normal users who are not the event host. Admins and Super Admins always see and share full details.
- Guest users: Can view suburb only and cannot see host phone numbers for private events.
5. Live Streaming
When you use the Live Stream feature:
- Your video and audio are captured by your device and streamed directly to YouTube Live
- Streams are broadcast to the Community Events YouTube channel
- YouTube broadcasts are public and viewable by anyone
- Stream titles include the event type, host name and subject
- We do not permanently store your video or audio content — it is relayed in real time to YouTube
6. On Behalf Of Submissions
If you submit an event on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have their permission to do so. You remain the owner of that event entry.
7. Location and Nearby Events
If you enable location-based features, we may use your location to show events within a defined radius. Location is used only for this functionality and is not stored without your knowledge.
8. Calendar Sync
If you sync events to your calendar, entries include event type, host name, date, time, address and audience type. Speaker and reciter details are not included in calendar entries.
9. Email Reminders and Notifications
You may receive daily reminder emails and push notifications for events. You can opt out at any time through Profile settings. Hidden events are excluded from all reminder communications.
10. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with service providers needed to operate the app, including:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, hosting, cloud functions
- Google Cloud Run — relay infrastructure for live streaming to YouTube
- YouTube (Google) — public live stream broadcasting
- Google Maps — address autocomplete
11. Data Security
We use Firebase secure authentication, role-based access controls, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and Firebase Secret Manager for sensitive credentials to protect your information.
12. Account Deletion and Event Data
You may request deletion of your account at any time through Profile → Delete My Account, or by contacting us at communityeventssydney@gmail.com.
When your account is deleted, all events you created will also be permanently deleted, including ending any active live stream. Some limited records may be retained only where required for legal, security or fraud prevention purposes.
13. Data Retention
Events are automatically removed from the app after a set period following the event date. User data is retained while your account is active. Live streams are relayed in real time and are not stored by us.

15. Admin and Super Admin Access
Admins and Super Admins may access and manage all event information including full addresses and host phone numbers for moderation and support purposes. Super Admins may manage user roles in accordance with app rules.

This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

17. AI-Assisted Search and Reporting
Community Events Australia includes AI-assisted search features. AI-generated responses may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate. Users can report problematic AI-generated content using the in-app Report AI Response feature.
AI response reports may include the user's prompt, the AI response, selected report reason, optional comments, user identifier, role, device/browser information and app version. Reports are used to review potentially problematic AI-generated output and improve the quality and safety of the application.

This app uses Firebase, Google Cloud Run, YouTube and Google Maps. These services have their own privacy policies which we encourage you to review.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be shown on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
